the king of brobdingnag was a learned man who studied philosophy and mathematics.he was a patient listner who gave time to others to explain their viewpoints.gulliver was trying to please him in various ways and repeatedly gave evidence of his ingenuity. till all his queries were satisfied, he took gulliver to a wonderfully designed piece of clock work. he was not satisfied till he put several questions to gulliver.his inquisitive mind put several questions on gulliver about the manner, religion, laws, government and learning of europe. he was kind and considerate but by no means mild and submissive.
