KOH ,which is potassium hydroxide in form of pellets or solution, absorbs carbon dioxide inside the bell jar produced due to plant carrying out respiration.
Now there is no carbon dioxide left for the plant to carry out the process of photosynthesis.
Thus it is no longer self sustaining system.
Plant will not be able to make it's own food in absence of carbon dioxide.
