Climate Changes with Latitude. Places located at high latitudes (far from the equator) receive less sunlight than places at low latitudes (close to the equator). The amount of sunlight and the amount of precipitation affects the types of plants and animals that can live in a place...... hope it helps

The temperature decreases as we go northwards and southwards from the equator. The region within 23 ½°N and 23 ½°S will get tropical climate with ample temperature and rainfall. On the other hand, the regions between 23½°N - 66½°N and 23½°S - 66½°S will get temperate or moderate climate (neither too hot nor too cold). Regions lying in the Arctic and Antarctic circles get very cold polar climate (Tundra Region)
