The magnetic effect of electric current help in the working of an electric bell as there is a rod just beside the electromagnet which is situated inside the bell . there is a spring between the electromagnet and the rod . Just above the electromagnet there is the sonorous bell. one of the two wires of electromagnet goes through the battery and and is located just beside the rod so that it touches it. and the second end of wire is connected to the rod. so whenever the rod is in contact with first wire , the electromagnet activates and attract the rod towards itself and the rod gets detached from the first end of wire and again goes back . the process goes on back and forth, back and forth ..... Thus hitting the bell .
