Metallicity increases down a group because the metals at the bottom are basic in nature and at the same time tends to lose electrons faster

Hey dear may this help you.......
Down the group the metallic character goes on increasing. This is bcoz as we go down the group the number of shells increase by one shell and so the electrons go far from the hold of nucleus and it becomes easy to loose electrons and thus the electropositive character increases..........
