Road development is one of the key departments of Pune Municipal Corporation. It acts like the life line of the fast growing infrastructure of the city. It is responsible for the construction and maintenance of all the roads that fall within the limits of PMC. In effect, the department is responsible for the development and repair of all DP Roads and Internal Roads. Construction and maintenance of pavements are also the responsibility of the road development department. Excavation Permission to various cable companies and utility services construction of speed breakers is issued by the road department after receiving the permission from Traffic police Department. Prior scrutiny is done by each request for permission to ensure road safety measures for the general public.
