ANSWER :

By observing the images produced by mirror for different position of objects its nature can be identified.

▶️If the image formed by the mirror is of same size as that of object for different position of object, then the mirror is a plane mirror.

▶️If the image formed by the mirror is diminished for all positions of object then the mirror is convex mirror.

▶️If the image formed behind the mirror is longer, than the object then the mirror is concave mirror.

Yes it help in determing the type of mirror because if the erect and virtual then it is convex mirror because rays of convex mirror dont meet .

So its magnification will always in positive.

And if the image is real and inverted and then it is concave because concave mirror form image down the mirror and the rays actually meet also the magnification is negative.
