Your computer's operating system (OS) manages all of the software and hardware on the computer. Most of the time, there are several different computer programs running at the same time, and they all need to access your computer's central processing unit (CPU), memory, and storage.

Hope it helps!!

When starting the computer it goes through a boot process. The boot process has four main steps which would be the basic input/output system, the post check, operating system, at last configuration and customization settings. The basic input/output system (BIOS) is a chip that contains instructions on how to load and operate the computers software ("Bios "). The post check makes sure there are no errors that exist before loading the operating system, testing the computer’s hardware making sure everything is in place. The operating system sends instructions to all the activities on the computer’s hardware device (RAM) (Lemley). Lastly the configuration and customization settings are checked, reads jumper, and will execute a full memory test.
