Bases have a pH above 7 i.e, between 7-14.
When it is diluted with water, pH lowers and comes closer to 7. or becomes 7.

pH of a solution is the power of Hydronium Ions.
Bases have a pH value lying between 7 and 14
i.e., a base have a pH value between 7-14.
If a base is diluted then the Concentration of OH- ion. so, due to which the pH of a basic solution lowers down.
That means the pH of a basic solution comes down nearer to 7.
