Plants are mainly producers of an ecosystem, because they don't depend on any other living organism for harvesting their necessary energy.

But there are many carnivorous plants too, which hunt different small sized insects and bugs to eat them in order to gain necessary energy.

Similarly pitcher plant is also a popular carnivorous plant, they mainly use their jar and lid like trap system to hunt different insects and bugs.

The jar like structure is always opened while no bug or insect is sitting on it.Once the bug or insect sits on that jar like structure a lid shaped leaf tightly covers that jar trap.

And inside this trap there is digestive enzyme fluid which helps to digest the insects and bugs trapped inside the plant.
