In Chritina Rossetti’s The Three Enemies, the speaker fights against the "flesh", "the world", and "the devil". Victory is accomplished through the realisation of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice & love for us in his "death on the cross".

Explanation:

  • Christina says that God sent his Son, out of his love for humanity, to be the sacrifice for our sins in human flesh. In the flesh he bled, endured, and gained. Jesus is the Maker of the Universe, the war against the devil is won. He generously enriched the world.
  • He had not come to existence by chance. This Earth and every person in it were created intentionally by God. Christ already won in the last battle against the devil. He is glorified by revelation - general & special. He's all-powerful. He knows everything (as opposed to the devil). Finally, without God's authority, the devil cannot do anything.
  • By showing that Christ had suffered far more on earth than we ever did, Rossetti warred against the flesh. And for his own sake, the losses that he had suffered were not by himself. She defeats the universe by proving that Christ was something more than this universe ever will bring. Christ is beautiful, he 's rich, he 's good, he's everything we would ever need.
  • God loses the fight, sending his "only son" down to "die on "the Earth" for everybody's sin. Instead, from our sinful ways, we should confess and cry to God as our ultimate saviour! Today, with our Father in heaven, we will live in peace! The devil lost the battle.
