How does the poet glorify mercy in the poem the quality of mercy ? 20 marks

The poet equals ‘mercy’ as the highest of human virtue which even humbles the gods.

It not only blesses the recipient but also the giver for none so lightens the burden of a mistake than forgiveness.

If man sees no answer in his quest for salvation, he is guaranteed liberation through mercy.

Thus ‘mercy’ is highlighted as one of the epitome of humanity yet ultimately it is the herione’s wisdom that saves the merchant of Venice.
