Explanation:

Parent-children relationships can get complicated but are illustrated how complicated it can get in the poem, Amanda.

The poem describes a girl named Amanda and how she is always nagging her mother for her mistakes always. The poem describes high expectations a mother has towards her daughter and how her words affect Amanda in whatever she does, thus demotivating and compelling Amanda not to do work.

The mother also finds annoyance in the way Amanda sits describing her to be lazy which might have a very serious impact on her in the future as the child might get demotivated.
