how does the poet react after throwing a log at the snake

 · when poet hitts with a snake he felt afraid and just want to kill it bcz he don't know that some snakes are not harmful.

After throwing the log at the snake , the poet feel guilty as the snake has not harmed so he got little bit selfish. hence at  the end he followed  the principle of social education which made him guilty and sorrow over the snake.
