In the poem the childhood, the poet in now matured enough and he can now understand the cruelty and prosaic nature of the real world.
He can now answer and understand the questions on spirituality and can sense the old days which are gone forever.
Now when the poet is away from his childhood days and he has grown up enough, he can realize his adulthood.
