Answer:

The poet says that he feels more at home with animals than human beings since they are selfish, false and always dissatisfied, while the animals are unselfish, true and more satisfied. They show their love for us.

the poem 'animals' written by walt whitman suggests that animals are calm, composed and peaceful. they are honest about their relations with one another and dont hide them. they dont weep for their sins nor regret any of their doing. they dont think about the future or chase the worldly materialistic things. nor do they bow down to their forefathers or one another. on the other hand, humans live either in their past or their future and dont appreciate or enjoy the present. theey stay up all night regretting and weeping for their sins in the past. they bow down to their ancestors and forefathers. they run behind wealth and materialistic things.  they keep fantasizing about their future. none of which the animals do. this is a major contrasting feature between animals and humans that the poet has highlighted.
