The pressure exerted by a thrust depends upon the surface area on which it acts, this statement can be explained by the following example
a sharp knife can easily cut anything but a blunt knife couldn’t, that’s because the surface area of a sharp knife is less as compared to that of a blunt knife....... so, a sharp knife will exert more pressure than a blunt knife
