Decantation: It's the process of separating a liquid by pouring it out carefully after sedimentation.
Filtration: It's the process of separating the liquid through a filter paper from solid residue. It results in better purification than decantation.

Filtration is the process of using a filter mechanically to seperate mixtures of solids and fluids.Depending on application the solid, fluid or both may be isolated.
Decantation is the process for the seperation of mixtures carefully pouring a solution from a container leaving sediments in the bottom of the container.
