In the fourth stanza
the rain compares itself to a messenger between the lover cloud and the beloved
earth. It is the only way of communication between them. When it falls, the
cloud’s pain is relieved, and the earth’s thirst is slaked. The cloud has the ailment of pain to send his heart's message to the beloved earth; and the earth is thirsting to hear the beloved clouds message. When the rain falls, it brings along the love message thus relieving the cloud of his pain and quenching the earth's thirst.
