CONCENTRATION OF REACTANTS. Rate of a reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of reactants. Explanation: The number of collisions and hence the activated collisions between the reactant molecules increase with increase in concentration.

Eg:

shreya14102: oh i want example too
shreya14102: tell me if the reaction is correct
ritadennis731: I just guess it normally occurs in every reaction... like if you speed up a reaction by using a catalyst... then every reaction would carry this phenomena ... there is no specific example for this

Some reactions happen very fast like the precipitation of silver chloride. It occurs immediately after mixing aqueous solutions of silver nitrate and sodium chloride. On the other hand, some reactions are very slow like the rusting of iron in the presence of air and moisture. Some chemical reactions are neither slow nor fast but take place at a moderate rate. #To be specific, it can be expressed in terms of:

*the rate of decrease in concentration of any of *the reactantsthe rate of increase in the concentration of any of the products.
