The chemical reactivity of metals decreases on going down the group. ... On moving from left to right in a period, the chemical reactivity of elements first decreases and then increases. the reactivity of metals changes while going down a group because their valence shell get filled as we go down

so the capability of gaining or losing atoms decreases

thus the reactivity decreases
