How does the relationship between Nick and Gatsby give you insight into the work as a whole?

We analyze romances between Gatsby and Daisy, Myrtle and George, and ... using page numbers would only work for students with our copy of the book. It made me uneasy, as though the whole evening had been a trick of some sort to .The relationship also is one of the ways we get insight into Nick.

It could be argued, for instance, that Gatsby essentially uses Nick to get closer to Daisy, Nick being Daisy's cousin, while the friendship on Nick's side is qualified by the fact that he is forever analysing and judging Gatsby.
