Resistance of a wire is inversely proportional to the area of the cross section .

It means when area of cross section increases the resistance of wire decreases

and when resistance increases the area of the cross section decrease

The resistance of a wire is inversely proportional to the area of cross section of the wire. As the area of cross section increases , the resistance of the wire decreases and vice versa.
