(a) It is inversely proportional to the area of cross section of the wire. The more the area of cross section of the wire,the less is the resistance and the less the area,the more is the resistance

(b) Resistance is inversely proportional to the square of the diameter of a wire. If diameter is doubled then resistance is reduced by 4 times. ... Resistance is directly proportional to the length and inversely to area.
