because while going from left to right in a periodic electrons enter in the same orbit and hence the attraction between the nucleus increases ..
it increases in radius while moving from top of a group to the bottom and decreases in radius while moving across a period, from left to the right..
it increases in radius while moving from top of a group to the bottom and decreases in radius while moving across a period, from left to the right..
