d) all of the above is the correct answer

The skin protects us from bacteria in the following ways:
1) Shedding dead skin cells to prevent the bacteria from staying on the body for too long
2) Secreting oil from sebaceous glands to produce a layer on our skin which prevents bacteria from infecting the skin.
3) It supplies blood that has oxygen and nutrients because when our skin is cut open, the WBCs in our blood fights against the bacteria thus preventing it from infecting our skin. Also platelets help in forming blood clots to seal the entrance to our body formed by the cut on our skin.

Hope it helps!!
