IT IS THE PROCESS IN WHICH A SUBSTANCE GOES FROM HIGHER CONCENTRATION TO LOWER CONCENTRATION.
THEREFORE THE SMELL OF PERFUME REACHES OUR NOSTRILS EVEN WE ARE AT DISTANCE.

It is because of diffusion...
The perfume molecules spread out or 'diffuse' through the air. The smell becomes less concentrated but it reaches a great distance - meaning we can smell it sitting several metres away from the source....
