Hey there,

Of the wonders created by god, this one has helped our stomachs not to digest itself.

The gastric glands secrete HCl which has a pH of 2 to 2.5. This is highly acidic and can itself digest the stomach. But the gastric glands along with pro-enzymes also release mucus.

This mucus forms inner lining of the stomach and prevent HCl from corroding the tissues of stomach.
