Answer :
Longman Dictionary defines the proverb 'you reap what you sow' as 'used to say that if you do bad things, bad things will happen to you, and if you do good things, good things will happen to you.'
In the short story 'Mrs. Packletide's Tiger' by Saki, Mrs. Packletide organizes a tiger hunt in order to outshine her social rival Mrs. Loona Bimberton. However, the plan backfires when she shoots the goat and the tiger dies of heart failure due to the loud sound of the firing of the gun and Miss Mebbin uses this knowledge to extract a large sum of money from her. So Mrs Packletide ends up paying an enormous amount to her to keep the knowledge secret.
The story 'Mrs Packletide's Tiger' teaches that we should not be vain and give vent to our feelings of hatred and jealousy. We should remain true to ourselves and not create a false image to impress and outshine others as such vain deeds result in negative consequences. We should, thus, focus on positive deeds and actions and work towards the betterment of the society.
