The Sun is mostly made of hydrogen and helium (about 75% and 25% by mass, respectively.) There are other elements in the Sun, but they make up less than one-tenth of one percent of the Sun’s mass, so they’re not super-important to the story.

The Sun also has an enormous mass — about 333,000 times the mass of Earth. All of that mass exerts a huge gravitational pull on itself. This causes the Sun’s matter to squeeze very tightly on its interior, generating insane pressure and heat.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves…this compressional heating does not explain the Sun’s output of light and heat. It’s just the trigger that starts the nuclear fusion process.

I hope it's helpful for u..

The core of the sun is so hot and there is so much pressure, hence the Sun produces light by a nuclear reaction called fusion. Nuclear fusion takes place and hydrogen is changed to helium.

As atoms of hydrogen combine to form helium, they produce vast amounts of heat and light.

Nuclear fusion creates heat and light.

Hope this helps.
