1)in group the tendency of elements to loose electrons increases as the no. of shells increases which makes it easy to loose electron in outermost shell
2)in a period the tendency to loose electrons decreases as there is no increase in no. of shells.

hey dear
here is your answer ☞

==============

⭐ 1) when we move from top to bottom in a group the tendency of the elements to loose electrons increases. this is because of the fact that in groups the number of shells increases which increases the distance between outermost shell and nucleus so force of attraction decreases.

2) when we move from left to right in a period the tendency of electron to loose electrons decreases because of the increase in the effective nuclear charge.⭐

hope it helps ^_^
