How does the time of a place depend on its longitude?

The earth rotates on its own axis from west to east once in every 24 hours, causing day and night. The rotation of earth round the sun means, at any point in time, different places will experience a different time of day.

Now, latitude only specifies the north-south position of a point on earth’s surface. But to calculate time, we need east-west position, as the earth rotates from west to eastwhich can be specified by longitude. I believe, this is why the time of a place does not depends on its latitud

Answer: The time of a place depend on its longitude of that place because longitude of a place specifies wether that place in in east or west.

Explanation: Now since the Earth is a circle rotating from east to west, there is only half part of the Earth that is in front of sun at a time
