how does the total surface area of box change if each dimension is doubled

The box is in the shape of cube (As mentioned in the comment section)

Now, we know that the TSA of cube = 6a², where a= side

If the side of the cube is doubled, its new side will be 2a

So the TSA of cube will now be 6*(2a)²
= 6 * 4a²
= 24a²

Note that earlier the TSA was 6a², and now it is 24a². Thus it has increased 4 times. 

Your answer= It increases 4 times
