Oxygen is mainly transported by haemoglobin (97%) which is a quarternary protein. However, 3% O2 is carried in dissolved form in plasma.

Main carrier of CO2 is its bicarbonate form (70%). 20 to 25% being transported by RBCs as Carbamino-Hb. Remaining 7% is carried away in dissolved form.
