A layer which covers the earth protects us from electromagnetic radiations , atmosphere consists of ionosphere , stratosphere , mesosphere , and the troposphere . Water cycle takes place in troposphere . Chemical reactions in troposphere makes life possible , oxygen in troposphere allows human life and carbon dioxide helps plants to perform their functions.

because it consists of biosphere where life exists due to the presence of water vapour,oxygen ,nitrogen and other gases which is essential for all living things.
