After every menstrual phase, the ovarian follicle releases some hormones, which activates uterine wall to get thickened. this thickening supports the further growth of fetus.

Answer:
During the process of zygote formation, the following steps occur.
- Ovary releases an egg which makes it's way through the fallopian tube towards the uterus.
- After this, the old inner lining of uterus gets degenerated and is expelled out of the female body in the form of blood.
- After 2-3 days of release, new inner lining gets placed in the uterus in order to provide a cushion like support for the egg which would develop as zygote.
- After male gamete fuses, the cushions are thickened by rich supply of blood to the walls of uterus.
- Placenta gets formed if fertilisation happens, if not, the egg is degenerated again after 28 days and the cycle continues.
- This process of degeneration is called Menstruation.
Hope it helps !!
