Earthen pot is made up of sands .. therefore,it has some pores in it , through these pores some of the water comes out and by taking the surrounding heat , it evaporates making the water cool.

Earthen pots have small small holes called pores.when water is kept in earthen pot the water seeps into the holes, which makes the process of evaporation easy.since evaporation takes the heat from the surface of the pot the water becomes cool.
