how does the water kept in an earthen pot become cool during summer

Because earthenware pots are slightly porous some water seeps through the walls and evaporates from the outstide of the pot.
It takes energy to evaporate water though, just as it takes energy to boil it, and the only place it can draw this energy from is the pot itself and the water inside the pot, so the faster it evaporates, the cooler the water becomes.

Answer:
Explanation:
Earthen pots have small small holes called pores.when water is kept in earthen pot the water seeps into the holes, which makes the process of evaporation easy.since evaporation takes the heat from the surface of the pot the water becomes cool.
