how does the water kept in an earthern pot become cold during hot summer days

During hot summer days the rate of evaporation is faster than normal days. The earthen pots have tiny spores in them . The water inside the pot gradually evaporates making a cooling effect inside the pot , making the pot cool. This evaporation is also responsible for gradual decrease of water from pots .
