When Mrs. packletide gave the villagers a 1000 ruppee note for that old tiger she thought it useless.she thought it was too much money. And when she came to know that Mrs. packletide had killed the goat instead of tiger she started blackmailing her as she knew that she could get profit if she continued blackmailing her. This shows that miss mebbin is a money minded person and can do whatever it takes to gain profit.
