How does this process of mechanical crushing go on the mouth?

Answer:

There is a need of mechanical crushing of food .Hence ,the food in the mouth has to be broken down into tiny pieces to increase the surface area for action of substance that help in digestion. First the teeth grinds the food particles and then the tounge helps to spread them so that we swallow it.
