chocolates and sweets get stuck in teeth and then corrode tooth enamel it effect the ph of mouth . toothpaste neutralise the effect of this.

The tooth enamel is made up of hard matter calcium phosphate food particles of chocolate and sweet are degraded by bacteria in mouth to produce acide with pH below 6 they corrode the phosphate to cause the tooth decay. Toothpaste consist of bases or salts which makes nutral the excess acid in the mouth and thus prevents tooth decay. ....
