xylem tissue is responsible for transport of water and minerals in plants. xylem tissue contains tracieds and vessel which are interconnected to form a continuous water conducting system which connects the roots to all parts of the plant body.when then water is brought up by the xylem tissue in leaves a large amount of water is lost trough transpiration which creates a kind of suction which pulls the water. therefore transpiration helps upward movement of water
