HI !

Uncle Podger is a character who makes the readers laugh. He feels himself to be a man of ability and skills. He keeps bragging that he could do any sort of job himself without anyone's help. But in reality , he involves others in the job and finally , after messing things up , does the work with imperfection.
When it comes to the task of hanging a picture on the wall , by his acts , he makes everybody in his family perplexed and confused.
He thinks that it is he who is doing the job of hanging the picture on the wall , but at the same time , he gets all the family members involved in one or the other subsidiary jobs.
He asks people to find his coat while he himself , was sitting on it. He had made a mess but looked prideful at his ill finished job.
All this prove him to be funny , lovable person but , good for nothing !

Uncle Podger is a funny and hilarious character mentioned by Jerome K Jerome (author) in his novel Three Men in a Boat.

Uncle Podger is Jerome's uncle. J thinks that his Uncle's deeds and habits and Harris deeds and habits are totally same.

Like Harris, Uncle Podger was used to create mess. Uncle Podger thinks that he is the best, He can deal with any work easily, He is full of different kinds of skills and abilities. But in reality He everytime creates a problem. He makes others to involve in the job of him. Uncle Podger is unable (or unwilling) to tackle a task alone. He would send everyone off to do his bidding, make a mess of things, and blame it on everyone else.

J mentioned a incident of Uncle Podger in his novel. Uncle Podger wants to hang a picture on the wall but he slips in between and frame of picture comes out. Then he cuts himself and fall from the ladder. He never realize about his mistakes. He always blames others.

Uncle Podger is a proud man who has a high opinion of himself. He is eccentric and attaches a major importance to even trivial jobs.
