Answer:

UV radiations arw mainly emitted by with the solar radiation from sun.

These UV radiation are of mainly 3 types:-

UV A - 315nm - 400nm

UV B - 280nm - 315nm

UV C - 100nm - 280nm

In this, particularly the UV-B is what causes the damage to plant and animal cells.

This happens as follows:-

The UV radiation when hits a plant or an animal cell, it gets absorbed by the DNA. Due to this absorption, it causes adjacent thymine-thymine base pairing. This Di - thymine bond if not get self repaired by photoreactive repair system, then it also causes death of an organism.

UV radiation also effects the ozone layer. Since UV - C is a low wavelength radiation it gets reflected back from the ozone layer. And UV - B gets absorbed by the O3 layer. But since UV - A is a long wavelength radiation it penetrates the ozone layer. This penetrated UV - A and some amount of UV - B cause death of organism.

uv radiation are produced by sun. it is very harmful to the organisms..

it causes skin cancer in humans as well as animals.it is very dangerous to our eyes. it also destroys the plants.

it is harmful to aquatic plants and animals

by this radiation the ozone layer is depleted. the uv radiation are of many wavelength . uv-400 is not harmful. but after that the uv radiation are harmful effects
