How does valency of an element vary across a period?​

Explanation:

Valency is the combining capacity.

Across a period,valency first increases then decreases to 0.

When valency is decreasing ,it is following the rule of octet configuration. If no.of.valance electrons are more than 4, Then the valency will be 8 - n (n = no.of.electrons more than 4)
