Variation help in the survival of the species over time

↪ Population of organisms live in well defined places or niches.

↪ They are native to that area.

↪ Reproduction involves DNA replication which can generates errors that is the main source of variation.

↪ This consistency of DNA is responsible for the maintainence of body design.

↪ Suppose the temperature in that region increases or decreases, water level changes or there is a meteorite hit, the population may get wiped out.

↪ But if there are some organism that can tolerate the heat, they would survive.

↪ They would further reproduce and survive in nature.

↪ For eg. (i) Bacteria are one of the oldest surviving organism.

Due to variations in their body designs, they adapt most of the inhospitable, climates like desert, ice etc.
