it is a type of a asexual reproduction seen in some higher plants.Since new plants are produced from vegetative parts of the plant like root ,stem or leaves so this method is called vegetative propagation

vegetative propagation. is asexual mode of reproduction in which plants reproduce by vegetative part. artificially it's done by cutting, layering and grafting. naturally it occurs by dispersion of vegetative part such as leaf of bryphyllum plant.
