H2o2 or hydrogen peroxide acts as a bleaching agent because it is a strong oxidizing ..The nascent oxygen combines with colouring matter which in turn gets oxidised. Thus the bleaching action of H2O2 is due to the oxidation of colouring matter by nascent oxygen.
