due to heat transfer from sun the water is converted to vapour and escapes to the atmosphere

Water on the earth's surface absorbs heat and converts into gaseous state that is water vapour and gets stick to the dust in the atmosphere or to the molecules of components of air and makes the atmosphere humid.

And this way the water of the earth's surface escapes into the atmosphere.
